A Howdy Week event is classified as an opportunity for new and returning students to gather in an organized fashion and participate in activities such as picnics, game or movie nights, carnivals, and more. Events are designed to create a welcoming environment for students and help them build unique experiences while meeting new people and learning about involvement opportunities and campus life.
Tabling is not considered an event and therefore will not be listed on the Howdy Week schedule of events.

Howdy Week events can be hosted by a University entities or recognized student organization as defined by Student Activities. Any third-party organization interested in participating must seek sponsorship from one of the groups listed above.

In order to create a full, comprehensive schedule, Howdy Week programs will be spread out throughout the designated dates of Howdy Week.

Howdy Week events can be hosted in person or virtually. In-person events must occur on the Texas A&M University-College Station campus, at the Health Science Center, or at the respective place of worship for organizations recognized by the Campus Ministries Association.
Common spaces and additional information can be found on page three of the Event Planner’s Guide.

Hosting an event during Howdy Week is a valuable opportunity to engage with the campus community, promote your entity, and contribute to the vibrant culture at Texas A&M University. It’s a great time to showcase what you offer, attract new members or participants, and inform students about the resources and services available to them. Your participation helps build a sense of community and belonging, enhancing students’ transition and overall university experience.

All departments, offices, and student organizations can host up to five events. You are welcome to host more, but we will only list five on the official Howdy Week schedule.

An Event Coordinator is responsible for arranging all logistics, including reserving the space and completing any forms deemed necessary by the event manager, submitting the event proposal form to the Howdy Week Committee, and if approved, maintaining all qualifications, ensuring the event details are posted to the Howdy Week schedule, and completing an Event Coordinator survey following Howdy Week. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the Event Coordinator to ensure reasonable accommodations are provided for any student who submits a request through the Howdy Week website.

You are more than welcome to table during the designated dates of Howdy Week. However, tabling does not meet Howdy Week event criteria and therefore will not be listed on the schedule of events. Please refer to “What is a Howdy Week event” for additional details.
